your coach
Joelle Adams is a certified coach and experienced educator who takes an academic approach to spiritual seeking. Her research includes projects on faculty wellness, transformational coaching, inspirational teaching, and supporting students from non-traditional backgrounds. In addition to exploring consciousness, Joelle enjoys yoga, midcentury design, NFL football (go Niners!), hiking/walking, travel, running, photography, strong British tea, a good fall coat, connecting with her global network of friends, and laughing so hard that her sides hurt. In addition to being a tenured professor at Santa Monica College, she is currently studying Psychedelics, Altered States, and Transpersonal Psychology toward a PhD in Applied Transpersonal Psychology at Alef Trust/Liverpool John Moores University.
The coaching
Joelle trained as a transpersonal coach, which means the coaching aims to move clients "beyond the ego" to see themselves (and the issues they are working with) from new perspectives. Based in humanistic and transpersonal psychological theories and models, the coaching process helps clients set intentions, see things differently, align behaviors to values and beliefs, address unmet needs, set and maintain boundaries, and respond to the contexts of their lives.
Outcomes include met intentions, a change of perspective, new options for old issues, and action plans.
